Dimapur: The SIR draft electoral roll for all 60 Assembly constituencies in Nagaland has been published with 12,06,457 electors, including 11,99,456 general electors and 7,001 service electors, the chief electoral officer’s office said on Monday.The state had 13,57,208 electors before the special intensive revision (SIR), conducted from Aug 16 to Sept 14.During the month-long exercise, 28,944 (2.13%) electors were identified as deceased, while 1,23,749 (9.12%) were categorised as absent, permanently shifted or otherwise ineligible. Another 5,059 electors were found enrolled at multiple locations or listed as duplicates. Their names will be retained at only one location, the Nagaland CEO’s office stated in a notification.The period for filing claims and objections is from Sept 20 to Oct 20. Eligible electors left out of the draft roll can apply through Form 6. Those who turn 18 on or before Oct 1, 2026, have also been urged to register.The notice and disposal phase for claims has been fixed from Sept 20 to Nov 18.The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on Nov 22.The CEO’s office said no name would be deleted without issuing a notice, conducting an inquiry and passing a formal order. Applicants unable to establish a link with the 2005 SIR roll will be asked to produce the required documents at a hearing.
