Jaipur: The health department Tuesday directed officials to use Setu app, developed through IHMS software, to strengthen referral services from district hospitals to primary health centres and ambulances for pregnant women.Speaking during a video conference from Swasthya Bhawan Tuesday, principal secretary (health and medical education) Gayatri Rathore said the app would help higher medical institutions prepare in advance after a patient is referred. Through a QR code, the referred institution will receive the patient’s report before the patient arrives, enabling timely treatment arrangements.Rathore reviewed maternal death cases in detail and discussed treatment arrangements and protocols with concerned doctors. She issued corrective instructions and directed medical in-charges and block medical officers to ensure required examinations for high-risk pregnant women, including blood pressure, haemoglobin, hypertension, weight and sonography checks.She said antenatal care services must be strengthened through monthly health check-ups of every pregnant woman under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Diwas campaign at institutional level. She also stressed intensive monitoring of high-risk pregnant women to ensure safe deliveries.Maternal death cases from Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Bundi, Dungarpur, Ajmer and Sriganganagar were reviewed in the meeting. Rathore asked officials to identify gaps in treatment and protocol and take corrective measures.The Alwar chief medical health officer Yogendra Kumar Sharma informed the meeting that the registration of private Nishu Hospital in Alwar district had been cancelled after a pregnant woman’s delivery was allegedly conducted by an unauthorised person. Action has also been initiated for cancellation of the RMC registration of the hospital’s operator doctor and the RNC registration of the nursing personnel.
