Panaji: Schools across Goa have been directed to begin preparing digital health cards for schoolchildren under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) 2.0.In the first phase, schools must submit student details including Aadhaar number, height, weight, and haemoglobin levels. This will allow linking the health ministry’s ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID with the education ministry’s Permanent Education Number (PEN) ID.A circular from Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan said the RBSK 2.0 portal is being rolled out by the Union ministry of health and family welfare to strengthen children’s digital health records through a unique health identifier and health cards. The circular instructed heads of govt, govt-aided, unaided, and special schools to urgently collect and submit student details for the RBSK 2.0 portal, and ensure 100% data completion and accuracy through physical verification of records.According to RBSK 2.0 guidelines, additional health details will be added over time.RBSK is India’s flagship child health screening programme based on the 4Ds approach: defects at birth, diseases, deficiencies and developmental delays. It follows a lifecycle-based approach covering children from birth to 18 years, with greater digitalisation, an expanded screening scope, inclusion of developmental disorders, and risk factors for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. The tracking system is intended to ensure interventions for identified health conditions and help minimise dropouts. Guidelines state that schools, anganwadi centres and community platforms will be key touchpoints for screening, awareness and follow-up care, with a focus on early intervention, continuity of care and long-term health outcomes.
