Jhunjhunu: Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Dr. Satish Poonia Saturday hit back at Rajasthan PCC chief Govind Dotasra’s remark that individual branding would not work in the Congress, saying the party had lost public trust because of its “own policies and conduct.”“Congress leaders will themselves become Congress’s ‘Bhasmasur’,” Poonia said, alleging that the Congress in Rajasthan had split into four camps and its organisation had become weak. “The organisation is not theirs. Four camps have been formed. No one knows who will do what. Earlier, they did politics of slogans and vote bank, but now the public has understood everything.”Speaking on the sidelines of a condolence meeting following the death of Mohani Devi, the mother of former MP Narendra Kumar, Poonia also commented on terrorism, civic body polls and recent political developments.Targeting Congress over the terror attack in Kulgam in Jammu & Kashmir, Poonia said terrorism was an “old problem given by Congress” and claimed BJP govts had addressed national security in phases. “From Kargil to Operation Sindoor, BJP govts have worked to assure the country regarding security,” he said. Terrorism had not been fully eliminated, he added, but Modi govt is working with “full commitment and priority” to root out both Naxalism and terrorism.Referring to remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jantar Mantar, Poonia said Modi own statement in the aftermath of the events had “further strengthened the dignity of democracy” and presented the “vastness of his personality” before the country and the world.Poonia also said democracy allowed everyone the freedom to protest and express themselves, but such expression must carry dignity and values. He said the younger generation must be taught democratic values and social sanskar along with education.Speaking on the upcoming civic body and Panchayati Raj elections, Poonia said BJP will go to people on the strength of development work under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and the achievements of Rajasthan govt. He expressed confidence that BJP would perform better on the issues of development and good governance.
