Vasco: The Sancoale panchayat has urged water resources minister Subhash Shirodkar to take up desilting of Bandolem lake ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.Sancoale sarpanch Paulina Azavedo and deputy sarpanch Tulshidas Naik, along with residents, met the minister to press the demand.Azavedo said the lake is used by locals for Ganesh idol immersion and requires desilting, adding that the task would be difficult without WRD support.Naik also sought removal of garbage flowing into the lake from Zuarinagar, warning that it could disrupt immersion. The minister assured action on priority.
