Chennai: S Jayachandran was unanimously elected president of the newly constituted Pachaiyappa’s Trust Board after elections were held on September 6 and votes counted on September 7.The nine trustees were elected from four constituencies — University of Madras Senate members, Pachaiyappa’s Trust College Council, approved teachers and registered graduates. The Madras High Court accepted the election results and the new board assumed administrative duties from September 16.The board subsequently appointed S Paramasivam as Financial Trustee and Dr R Prabhaakaran as Member Secretary. It has begun functioning and passed resolutions concerning the welfare of teachers and other employees.
