Silchar: Police seized 10,000 suspected Yaba tablets worth Rs 3 crore and arrested a man in Lakhipur on Monday.Acting on information, Lakhipur police intercepted a car at Talengram and recovered the suspected contraband during a search.The accused was identified as Fakrul Hussain Choudhury (32) of Chengjur Grant in Cachar’s Binnakandi area. Police said the tablets weighed around 1.131 kg. The car allegedly used to transport the drugs was also seized.A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Police are investigating the source, intended destination and possible involvement of others.
