Aizawl: Mizoram Police have seized drugs valued at over Rs 14.47 crore in four operations since Monday, arresting six people.Champhai police seized 994 grams of methamphetamine worth Rs 79.52 lakh from a maxi-cab passenger at the Chalbawia Junction check gate on Wednesday. The passenger, Hrang Thawm Hnim (39) is from Myanmar.In another operation that day, police seized 141 g of heroin worth Rs 28.20 lakh from two passengers travelling from Zokhawthar towards Aizawl. Awngminnine (19) and Bawithawng (18) are from Myanmar’s Chin state.Saitual district police seized 12.746 kg of methamphetamine, valued at Rs 10.19 crore, at Keifang on Tuesday. They arrested Chinzalian (26) and Thiankhatmuanga (27), both from Myanmar and currently living in Champhai, police spokesperson H Ramthlengliana said.On Monday, Kolasib police intercepted a vehicle travelling from Aizawl towards Karimganj at the Phaisen check gate near the Assam border. They seized 3.91 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 3.2 crore and arrested Guljar Hussain (23) of Karimganj.Cases have been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigations are underway.
