Ahmedabad: Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses (ACPDC) has successfully completed Round 2 of the admission process for first-year diploma engineering courses after Class 10 for the academic year 2026-27, leaving 30,594 seats vacant across Gujarat.The round, which included fresh registrations following the supplementary board exam results, concluded on Monday.According to official data, govt and grant-in-aid polytechnics saw strong demand, filling 20,100 (91%) of their 23,238 available seats, with 3,138 seats remaining open. Conversely, self-financed and PPP institutes struggled to attract applicants, filling only 11,075 (29%)of 38,531 seats, leaving 27,456 seats empty.The second round saw 1,006 newly registered applicants secure seats in govt and grant-in-aid colleges, while 1,339 were allotted seats in self-financed institutes. Additionally, 1,699 candidates upgraded their preferences, with 1,288 moving up to govt or grant-in-aid institutions.Candidates who have been allotted seats must confirm their admission by paying the online fee by Wednesday.For the upcoming Round 3, candidates must provide online consent and fill their choices between Aug 6 and 9. Round 3 seat allotment result will be declared on Aug 12. Candidates must confirm their seats by paying the fee between Aug 12 and 13.Any new allotment in Round 3 will automatically cancel the previous admission.
