Jaipur: Rotarian Lal Goyal, President of Organ Donation India Foundation and GYAN, and Founder and Charter President of Rotary Club of Organ Donation International (RCODI), addressed the organ donation awareness programme organised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Jaipur International Airport as the chief guest and keynote speaker.In his nearly hour-long lecture, Lal Goyal appealed to CISF officers and jawans to become ambassadors of organ donation in their families and society. He stated that if awareness begins at home, a positive attitude towards organ donation can be developed in society and many lives can be saved.Lal Goyal also praised the crucial role of CISF in the organ transplant process, stating that CISF personnel play a crucial role in ensuring the quick and smooth transportation of organs at airports. Their promptness makes organ transplants possible in a timely manner, giving many patients a new lease on life.Lal Goyal, highlighting the current status of organ donation in India, stated that there are four major challenges in this area: lack of public awareness, limited number of organ retrieval and transplant centers, lack of adequate financial support for transplantation, and social and religious misconceptions surrounding organ donation.He commended the efforts of the Government of India and the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), stating that more extensive efforts are needed to strengthen the culture of organ donation, and that the participation of every citizen is crucial. In a question-and-answer session held at the end of the program, Lal Goyal addressed participants’ queries and dispelled various myths and misconceptions related to organ donation.Inspired by his address, many participants expressed interest in donating. At the conclusion, Lal Goyal expressed his gratitude to the CISF Commandant, Deputy Commandant, and the entire organizing committee for organizing the event and congratulated them for organizing a meaningful awareness program in such a short time.
