New Delhi: Delhi Police has made a breakthrough in Rs 1.5-crore heist reported in north Delhi on June 10, with one suspect apprehended and raids under way to nab the remaining accused, police sources said.According to sources, the suspect was nabbed after multiple raids across Haryana and Rajasthan.The robbery took place on June 10, when two cashiers employed by a private real estate firm were allegedly robbed at gunpoint. The employees, who work for a company based in west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar, had been instructed by the firm’s owner to deliver a bag containing Rs1.5 crore to a business establishment in Kucha Ghasi Ram in Chandni Chowk area.Police said the two left Paschim Vihar around 2.30 pm. One of the cashiers later told investigators that at around 3 pm, while they were travelling from Delhi Metro’s Ashoka Park station towards Inderlok on a scooter, two men on a red motorcycle wearing red helmets intercepted them.The suspects allegedly overtook the scooter and forced the cashiers to stop. One of the men then pulled out a pistol, threatened them and snatched the bag containing the cash.After grabbing the money, the accused fled towards Punjabi Bagh area on their motorcycle. Police are now examining CCTV footage and tracking the movement of the suspects to establish the full sequence of events.
