Residents Raise Alarm Over Pollution, Sanitation Issues in Sectors 99–102*Residents of several housing societies in Sectors 99–102, Gurgaon, including G99, Amstoria, Joyville, Imperial Gardens and Adani developments, have raised serious concerns over alleged environmental, sanitation and regulatory violations in the area. In a media statement issued on Saturday, residents accused developers and contractors of illegal dumping, rampant landfilling, unchecked construction debris, air and dust pollution, open garbage burning, and the absence of basic sanitation facilities near residential boundaries. According to residents, construction workers at multiple sites are living in temporary huts without access to proper toilets and hygiene facilities, forcing many to resort to open defecation in areas visible to families and children. They alleged that such conditions are a direct violation of Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines and reflect severe negligence by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon , Haryana State Pollution Control Board , RERA authorities and the district administration.Residents further claimed that despite repeated complaints and submission of geo-tagged photographs and video evidence, no concrete action has been taken by the concerned departments. They also alleged that garbage is being openly burnt at various corners near the backside of Adani and DPS areas, worsening air quality and posing health risks to nearby residents. A mobile toilet reportedly installed at one of the sites has remained unusable due to poor maintenance, adding to sanitation concerns. “These are recent geo-tagged instances from the backside of Adani and DPS. Huts have been constructed without providing basic sanitation and hygiene facilities for occupants, while garbage continues to be openly burnt in several corners. Despite repeated complaints and sufficient evidence, no effective action appears to have been taken,” said Monika Ailawadi, a resident of Amstoria, Sector 102, Gurgaon, Haryana.Residents have demanded an immediate multi-department inspection of the affected areas, strict penalties against violators under RERA and National Green Tribunal provisions, enforcement of Swachh Bharat compliance at all active construction sites, and compensation for residents allegedly affected by prolonged exposure to pollution and unhygienic conditions. They warned that continued inaction by authorities would amount to complicity in ongoing public health and environmental violations.“We will intensify our surveillance through sanitation security staff (SSF) to check illegal dumping of debris if it is happening in these areas,” said Mcg additional commissioner Ravinder Yadav.
