Chennai: PMK MLA C Sivakumar from Vikravandi urged the Tamil Nadu govt to remove the toll on the Outer Ring Road from Vandalur to Minjur.Speaking at the assembly, he said there are plans to privatise the toll and road maintenance, with the revenue largely going to the private contractor. “They should not privatise the road,” he said.He further said there were about 78 tolls within NH limits, of which about 38 are within city limits. “These must be removed,” he said. A few other MLAs, including V Sampathkumar from Harur and PMK Gingee MLA P Ganeshkumar, demanded removal of tolls in Krishnagiri, Chennai, Vikravandi, and Gingee which were in city limits.
