Hyderabad: A realtor fell into the trap of alleged cyber fraudsters and lost Rs 5.74 crore recently. Based on his complaint, TG Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) sleuths registered a criminal case on Saturday.The victim came across an investment opportunity in an advertisement on YouTube. He registered on the trading platform. Later, one Arjun Reddy got in touch with him,claiming to be an employee of the trading platform.Later, a few more persons approached the victim, claiming to be managers of the trading platform. Assuring the victim of high profit, they lured him to invest, assuring good returns. Trusting them, the victim invested Rs 5.74 crore over seven months. Earlier, he was shown high growth through a statement shared with him. When the victim wanted to withdraw the money, the accused started demanding that he invest more money.Subsequently, the accused went incommunicado, which made the victim realise that he was duped by cybercriminals.
