RAJKOT: A rickshaw driver was allegedly attacked by a pet German Shepherd and beaten with a chain in the Mavdi Plot area on Tuesday, police said.The video of this incident went viral on social mediaAccording to the complaint, Kishan Mewada, 34, a resident of Amarnagar was sitting in his rickshaw near his home around 7pm when Deep Jadeja, who lives in the same street, arrived with the dog.The two had previously argued over the issue of naming each other in a police complaint related to some personal issues. Jadeja allegedly abused Mewada and assaulted him with the dog’s chain before letting the animal loose and making it bite him.Mewada suffered injuries to both hands and his left leg. He also sustained injuries to his forehead and near his eye after allegedly being hit with the chain.He reportedly ran into his house to escape.Jadeja also allegedly abused Mewada’s wife. Local residents gathered at the spot, following which Mewada’s family alerted the police and emergency services. He was later taken by ambulance to Rajkot Civil Hospital.Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 118(1), 115(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
