Jaipur: Residents living within 20 km of 15 toll plazas in Rajasthan can now apply online for monthly Local Passes, eliminating the need to visit toll booths for physical document verification.National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has brought these plazas under its Digital Local Pass framework. Eligible residents can apply through the Rajmargyatra mobile app, upload required credentials and obtain a pass for unlimited monthly movement through the relevant toll plaza, subject to applicable norms.“Previously, commuters seeking a Local Pass were required to visit the concerned toll plazas physically and submit documents to establish their residential address within the 20 km range and other eligibility requirements. Now eligible users can book passes digitally through the NHAI’s app. It would be convenient for the users and reduce queues at the toll plaza,” an NHAI official said.The digital pass system was first launched in July 2026 at the Mundka–Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on Urban Extension Road-II in Delhi. It has since been extended to more than 120 toll plazas nationwide, with further expansion planned in the coming months.In Rajasthan, the facility is currently available at Badi Ghati (New) in Ajmer; Bhagat Talai, Dakan Kotra and Karel in Udaipur; Khanori and Manaklaw in Jodhpur; Methun, Pallai and Lal Ka Khera in Kota; Nekawala in Jaipur; Nimbaniya Ki Dhani and Lanela in Jaisalmer; Seora and Raisinghnagar in Bikaner; and Para Toll Plaza in Bhilwara.The move is expected to cut waiting time and ease movement across eligible highway corridors from this month.
