NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across several parts of the country on Thursday, August 13, with heavy rainfall likely over parts of northwest, central, eastern, northeastern and western India. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several states.Delhi-NCRRain activity is likely to continue around Delhi-NCR, although widespread rainfall is not forecast for August 13. Another spell of fairly widespread rain is expected over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from August 14 to 15. Heavy rainfall is likely over Delhi and adjoining areas during this period.Haryana And ChandigarhHaryana and Chandigarh are likely to see a temporary lull in widespread rainfall on August 13, before another spell of fairly widespread rain begins from August 14. Heavy rainfall is likely over the region from August 14 to 17.Uttar PradeshRainfall activity is expected to increase over Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rainfall is likely over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, the Northeast and Maharashtra, while thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected over several southern and eastern states.
