Jaipur: A proposed 120-ft-wide, 3-km road connecting the Mansarovar RIICO flyover with Diggi-Malpura Road has been delayed due to a dispute over railway land, with JDA and Railways holding discussions to resolve the issue.The road was planned as an alternative route during construction of the Sanganer elevated road. More than 65,000 sq metres of railway land falls within the proposed alignment, along with over 20 constructions. The project is expected to affect 57 landholders.The delay has added to traffic pressure on surrounding roads, where commuters have already been facing congestion and diversions due to the elevated road work. The proposed alternative route has remained unavailable for nearly a year.JDA had started widening work on the road around a year ago, but the work continued for only about a week. Since then, officials have held discussions with Railways over the land issue.A JDA executive engineer said the project had not been stalled and talks with railway officials were underway. He said a solution would be found soon but did not give a definite date for resumption of work.
