Margao: Senior Congress functionary Rahul Gandhi will join the culmination of the Goy Rakhonn Yatra in Margao on Sunday, as the party’s campaign “to protect Goa’s land, identity and people’s rights” reaches Navelim and Margao.According to a statement issued by Congress on Saturday, the yatra will arrive near Daivadnya Bhavan, Calconda, Margao, at 3pm. It will proceed from Perpetual Succour Ground and Lohia Maidan before moving to Dr Rajendra Prasad Stadium (MCC ground), where it will culminate in a public meeting.Gandhi’s participation in the yatra was cancelled at the last moment on two earlier occasions. The latest cancellation came earlier this week, when he was scheduled to join it in Cuncolim.Several senior national functionaries, including chief ministers, took part in the 27-day-long yatra. Congress said the yatra, which began in Panaji on Sept 22, received overwhelming support from the people.
