Jaipur: Private bus operators across Rajasthan have announced an indefinite strike from Monday night, with bus services to be suspended across the state from 11:59 pm on Aug 10. Operators will stop accepting bookings from Sunday midnight.The decision was taken at a meeting of bus operators Sunday, who said they were forced to take the step as their demands and grievances had not been addressed.President of the All Rajasthan Contract Carriage Bus Operators Association, Rajendra Sharma, said operators were aggrieved by the transport dept’s action against private bus owners, including what they termed unnecessary challans.“All bus operators and travel agents in the state will not accept online bookings for any bus from Aug 10 until the strike concludes,” Sharma said.The association has directed operators to keep booking charts closed on all online platforms during the strike. It has also warned that action, as per the organisation’s rules, will be taken against any operator or travel agency found to have an active online booking chart during the strike.The operators said the strike would continue indefinitely until the issues arising from the transport dept’s actions were resolved.
