Dimapur: Veteran Congress politician and former Nagaland chief minister SC Jamir met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, urging him to pressure the Centre to close peace negotiations and sign a final agreement with all Naga underground factions to resolve the decades-old Naga issue.The meeting took place at the RSS headquarters in New Delhi on Sept 10. Announcing this at a media conference in the presence of the Concerned Naga Forum of Nagaland members here on Saturday, Jamir said he apprised Bhagwat of the two ‘preliminary papers’ — the Framework Agreement 2015 and the Agreed Position of 2017 — signed with two Naga political groups.Jamir also referred to former Nagaland governor R N Ravi’s statement in 2020 that the negotiations had concluded. “But the ‘sabotage or status quo club’ wants to delay the date with solution. For them, the sufferings of the Naga people and violence are a lucrative money-minting machine,” he told Bhagwat.
