Kolkata: CESC on Wednesday disconnected electricity supply to at least 10 buildings in Tiljala following a govt order to conduct an audit and sever supplies to all unauthorised buildings. The utility permanently disconnected supply at 50/1-D/1, GJ Khan Road, on Tuesday following the fire in a factory situated in the four-storied building on Tuesday. CESC also inspected buildings in Ekbalpore and disconnected supply to one building. “Seven teams carried out inspections in Tiljala on Wednesday and supply was disconnected on safety grounds. The inspections will continue as per the govt directive. We are working in coordination with KMC, which has to identify unauthorised and illegal buildings,” a CESC official said. KMC has also been asked to sever water supply lines to illegal structures in the city, especially in Kasba, Mominpore, Tiljala and Ekbalpore. tnn
