Panchkula: A day after polling for the municipal corporation elections, BJP mayoral candidate Sham Lal Bansal had a relaxed schedule, while his Congress rival Sudha Bhardwaj remained occupied amid the controversy over non-functional CCTV cameras at the EVM strong room.After weeks of campaigning, Bansal spent the day with family members. He was seen playing carom with his grandchildren in the morning, later meeting party leaders at his residence and visiting a temple in the evening.“Since my name was announced, there was no time to relax with back-to-back rallies and meetings. Today, after polling, I could finally spend time with family,” Bansal told TOI.In contrast, Bhardwaj had a hectic day after receiving information about CCTV cameras allegedly not functioning outside the strong room at Government Girls College, Sector 14. She, along with party leaders, rushed to the site, raised the matter with officials and later submitted a complaint to the administration. She also met deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma along with Congress MLA Chandermohan.“I did not expect the day after polling to be this hectic. After getting information about the CCTV issue, I had to rush and pursue the matter. It took most of the day,” she said, alleging irregularities and calling for accountability.INLD mayoral candidate Manoj Aggarwal returned to work after the polls. “We have our business commitments. I resumed work today and spent a productive day,” he said.AAP candidate Rajesh Kumar spent the day with family and visited a temple. “After the hectic campaign, I thanked God and also expressed gratitude to party workers for their support,” he said.
