Pharmacy admissions: 6,784 seats allotted in mock round in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: The mock round for degree and diploma pharmacy courses concluded with the allotment of 6,784 out of 8,637 available seats. A total of 9,464 students participated in this trial phase to understand the process before the actual round begins.The admission committee drew up a merit list of 13,488 students based on GujCET scores. Since NEET results are pending, merit for 58 all-India quota seats in govt and grant-in-aid colleges was processed accordingly.Students must submit fresh choices for the actual first round by June 30. Allotment results will be declared on July 2.Two institutes — Shreemati Champaben Gajera College in Amreli and Prime College in Navsari — have been excluded from the first round because approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is pending. Meanwhile, govt pharmacy colleges in Surat and Gandhinagar have expanded their individual intake from 60 to 100 seats, which will be available in the upcoming round.During the mock round, all 306 govt college seats were filled. Grant-in-aid colleges saw 610 of 702 seats allotted. In self-financed institutes, 5,180 of 6,114 degree seats and all 412 tuition fee waiver (TFW) seats were filled, while 235 of 1,049 diploma seats found takers.
