TNN Ludhiana: A petty dispute between two factory workers in Sandhu Nagar triggered a murder on Thursday afternoon. The victim, Dharmendra, aged around 26, was a native of Uttar Pradesh and had been working in Ludhiana for the last five years. The factory owner told police that contractor Rahul informed him about the dispute between the resident workers around 2.30am on Thursday. He learnt that Dharmender suffered serious injuries. They called an ambulance and took Dharmender to hospital but he did not survive. Sources said Dharmender brought the accused, who belongs to the same village in UP as him, to work in the factory about a month ago. The factory owner said the accused struck Dharmender on the head with a stool in the course of the argument. He added that they were the only ones present in the factory at night.Police said both parties were drunk when the argument started. An officer said legal action would be taken after family members of the deceased reached the city. Identity of the accused, aged around 18-19, would be revealed after a case was registered, the officer said.
