Bicholim: Bicholim police arrested Savalo Korgaonkar of Deulwada, Dhargalim, for allegedly stealing Rs 5,000 from the donation box of Shree Kalbhairav Temple, Saptakoteshwar Devasthan, Narve. Police said Korgaonkar is also involved in 10 other similar thefts in other parts of the state.As per the complaint filed by temple secretary Mandar Sardessai, the accused allegedly entered the temple through the open hall on Aug 1, broke the lock on the donation box and fled with cash and coins.Police identified him through CCTV footage, traced him to Cortalim, and brought him to Bicholim police station on Saturday night. He was produced in court on Sunday, and remanded to 12 days of judicial custody.
