Pawan is a pawn in BJP’s hands, claims Kavitha

Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha demanded that the state govt book Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan for his alleged anti-national statements.Speaking at a meeting of Telangana statehood movement activists in Karimnagar on Thursday, she said the neighbouring state’s leader and actor had equated pro-Telangana activists with terrorists and separatists.“He goes to Delhi and equates the Telangana sentiment with ‘Verpatuvadam’, as if we wanted to separate from India as a country. When did we say that? When was the Telangana agitation about wanting to separate from the country?” she said.“He should be booked for making divisive and anti-national statements. Why doesn’t the Congress govt have the courage to file a case?” Kavitha asked. The TRS chief alleged that the BJP was behind Pawan Kalyan’s tour and comments, claiming that the party wanted to capture power in Telangana. As it could not come to power on its own and might not retain its current eight seats in the next elections, it was attempting to use Pawan Kalyan, she said.
