Patwari held for Rs 20,000 bribe in Bhilwara land case
Tonk ACB trapped a patwari while taking a bribe of 20 thousand

Bhilwara: The Tonk Anti-Corruption BureauTuesday arrested Bhanwar Singh, patwari of Uncha halka in Jahazpur tehsil of Bhilwara district, after allegedly catching him taking a Rs 20,000 bribe to process a land decree.ACB Additional SP Rishikesh Meena said the complainant alleged that Singh was demanding the bribe to pass a land decree in favour of his father in compliance with a court order. The complaint was verified on June 25, during which the patwari allegedly agreed to accept the money.On Tuesday, the ACB team accompanied the complainant to Deoli. Singh allegedly made the complainant sit in his car on the way and asked him to place the bribe money in the car’s dashboard. The ACB team then intervened, recovered the cash and took Singh into custody.Singh, 45, son of Nathoosingh, is originally from Gunathu village under Losal police station in Sikar district. He was taken to Deoli police station in Tonk district for questioning and later arrested.The ACB has registered a case against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act and begun further investigation.
