Palghar: A 22-year-old biker, Nitin Vartha, allegedly hanged himself from a tree on finding out that his friend, Vaibhav Lahange (15), who was on the pillion, had died after he hit a light pole and a tree in Palghar’s Manor on Friday. The impact threw Lahange in the air. When Vartha regained consciousness, he walked to an orchard nearby and died by suicide, police said. —Vishal Rajemahadik
