Jodhpur: The final culture report of the operation theatre (OT) at Paota District Hospital has ruled out any bacterial or fungal infection, shifting the focus of the probe into complications suffered by eight women after caesarean deliveries to the medicines administered to them.According to the report, no infection was detected in the OT, strengthening the possibility that the complications were not caused by contamination in the surgical facility. With the OT now cleared, authorities are awaiting reports of samples collected from medicines used during treatment, which are expected to play a crucial role in identifying the cause.Paota District Hospital Principal Medical Officer (PMO) Kulbir Singh Chopra said the OT would be reopened only after receiving all necessary clearances from the medical college authorities.“The process is expected to take around five days before surgical services resume,” Chopra said.Meanwhile, the condition of the two critically ill women undergoing treatment at AIIMS Jodhpur has continued to improve. In its latest health bulletin, the institute said both patients, Lalita and Sonu, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), are stable and showing steady recovery, though one of them remains on ventilator support.Hospital authorities said the condition of the remaining six women admitted to Paota District Hospital has also improved significantly. Medical reports received on Wednesday were found to be normal, indicating positive recovery.The eight women had developed serious health complications after undergoing caesarean sections at Paota District Hospital on June 20, triggering a high-level inquiry into the incident.Health authorities are awaiting the medicine sample reports before drawing any final conclusions on the cause of the complications.
