‘Op Sindoor’ showed India’s zero tolerance against terror: HP guv

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh governor Kavinder Gupta on Thursday paid rich tributes to the armed forces on the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor‘, describing it as a defining moment that reshaped India’s counterterror doctrine and demonstrated the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.Recalling the precise military operation carried out on the intervening night of May 7-8 last year, Gupta said, “Our armed forces successfully targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists were killed.”The governor added that ‘Operation Sindoor’ marked a decisive shift from strategic restraint to strategic pro-activeness. He noted that the Indian armed forces displayed deep -strike capability by destroying terror camps and airfields in Pakistan without inflicting damage to Indian military assets. “Indigenous defence systems such as BrahMos and Akash also showcased India’s growing self-reliance in defence technology.”Gupta further said Himachal Pradesh had always contributed brave soldiers to the nation and urged citizens to uphold national unity and maintain zero tolerance against terrorism.The governor lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh for giving operational freedom to the armed forces, sending a strong message that India would not tolerate terrorism under any circumstances.
