Jaipur: Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) Thursday arrested another candidate allegedly selected by manipulating his OMR sheet in the Laboratory Assistant Direct Recruitment Examination, 2018.Investigators alleged the accused secured provisional selection after employees of a private agency tampered with the scanning process.Additional director general of police (SOG) Vishal Bansal identified the accused as Sanjay Kumar Saini, 28, a resident of Khadka village in Dausa district. The SOG said Saini’s manipulated OMR scan showed 191 marks, while a fresh scan conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board found that he had secured only 43 marks.According to the SOG, the investigation in FIR registered at the SOG police station found that employees of Rabhav Limited, the agency entrusted with scanning OMR sheets, manipulated the answer sheets of 27 candidates to secure their provisional selection through fraudulent means.Police have already arrested Rabhav Limited employees Vinod Kumar Gaur and Shadan Khan, along with the company’s executive director, Rampravesh Singh. Four candidates — Mahendra Kumar Meena, Devendra Singh Gurjar, Vijay Singh Meena and Pintu Kumar Meena — were also arrested earlier in the case.Investigators alleged that the agency employees manipulated the scanning process in collusion with beneficiary candidates. In Saini’s case, police said the forged digital scan inflated his score from 43 to 191 marks, enabling his provisional selection.
