New Delhi: Traffic was slow in some parts of the city Friday amid Raksha Bandhan celebrations, with congestion reported at Kalindi Kunj, NH-48 on the Delhi-Gurgaon route, and parts of Dwarka and Shadipur.Online visuals showed slow-moving traffic at the Kalindi Kunj intersection and on NH-48 towards Gurgaon, while commuters flagged congestion from Dabri Mor towards Dwarka. Heavy traffic was also reported on Mahipalpur flyover and near Shankar Vihar bus stop, and close to Lajpat Nagar.Some commuters took to social media to report delays. One posted, “The Delhi – Gurgaon road is jammed again. And there are heavy vehicles on the road. So @CPDelhi and @dcptsr are you not aware that it is a festival so heavy vehicles need to be restricted. Do you even plan? Delhi and Gurgaon are at its worst @LtGovDelhi.”Another posted, “Stuck at kalindi kunj again with No movement… This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable—on Raksha Bandhan.”Traffic police sources said advisories were issued for certain areas and personnel were trying to regulate traffic wherever required.Some traffic police ranges also posted about the arrangements made for the festival. “In view of Raksha Bandhan, Central Range Traffic Police has made special traffic arrangements at major intersections, busy markets and high-footfall transport hubs, including ISBT Kashmere Gate, railway station & metro stations. Traffic personnel are on ground to facilitate safe, smooth and orderly movement.”
