Lucknow: A day ahead of International Yoga Day, hundreds of residents gathered at KD Singh Babu Stadium on Saturday for a mass yoga camp. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak joined participants and performed yoga asanas. People of all age groups attended the event, dressed in yellow T-shirts as well as traditional attire, creating a colourful spectacle.The session was part of preparations for International Yoga Day, themed ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, and was organised by Mamata Charitable Trust.Participants performed breathing exercises, stretching routines and basic postures for physical and mental well-being. Meanwhile, the ongoing River Yoga 2026 campaign at Kudiya Ghat on Gomti river continues to draw participants.The 10-day programme, organised by the Gomti Task Force in collaboration with the LMC and BBAU, combines yoga sessions with awareness on river conservation.Prof Venketesh Dutta, head of the department of environmental science at BBAU, said the initiative links personal well-being with ecological responsibility.Major Kanwardeep Singh Nagi of the Ecological Task Force Battalion (Territorial Army), 39 Gorkha Rifles, said it aims to strengthen people’s connection with the river.Officials said the campaign has evolved into a community effort promoting both health and environmental awareness.
