Hyderabad: Octave Intelligence plc, which develops software for mission-critical facilities and infrastructure and was formed after its hive-off from Swedish tech giant Hexagon, inaugurated its first global technology and innovation centre in India in Hyderabad, positioning the facility as a major hub for its worldwide software, artificial intelligence and product development work.The centre, located in HITEC City and spanning about 2 lakh sq ft, was inaugurated by Telangana IT & industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Octave CEO Mattias Stenberg.As part of the hive-off earlier this year, Octave already has around 2,000 employees in India, spread across Hyderabad and Delhi NCR. This includes around 1,600 employees in Hyderabad, where it plans another 300-400 hires. Globally, Octave has a headcount of around 7,200 across 45 countries.The Hyderabad centre will support Octave’s global business across software engineering, AI, data, cloud, product development and other advanced technologies.The company said teams in India will build solutions for customers managing complex industrial assets and critical infrastructure, where real-time intelligence and data-driven decisions are essential.An experience centre at the site will showcase Octave’s products, AI-led innovations and industrial intelligence applications through immersive demonstrations and real-world use cases for customers, partners and stakeholders.Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad offered the engineering depth, scale and continuity needed by companies building technology for critical industrial and energy infrastructure. He said Telangana welcomed 75 new global capability centres last year and is targeting 100 more by next year.Stenberg said Hyderabad’s engineering talent, technology ecosystem and innovation culture make it an exceptional location for Octave’s next phase of growth.Octave caters to more than 60% of the global Fortune 500 and about 4,500 customers in 180 countries.
