Now, Mau police issues notice to Mukhtar’s MLA son for violating bail condition

Varanasi: Mau Sadar MLA Abbas Ansari, son of late gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, has come under Mau police scanner for allegedly violating bail conditions. The Supreme Court had granted him bail in a Gangsters Act case lodged in Chitrakoot, with the condition that he inform police before visiting his constituency.Police said Abbas did not inform them about his constituency visit. Ghazipur police had also served him a notice for staying at his ancestral home in Bada Darwaja, Yusufpur, for over three days. He did not reply to the notice. Officials are now preparing a report on the alleged bail violation to send to the state government.Mau officials said the SC bail order requires Abbas to inform the local administration and police before visiting his assembly constituency, and restricts his stay at the Yusufpur residence to no more than three days.Mau SP Kamlesh Bahadur said Abbas had visited the district multiple times since May 13 without informing the local police in advance, allegedly violating conditions laid down by the SC. During these visits, he travelled to several places, met people and also made public statements, the SP said.Bahadur said a notice was being served to Abbas seeking an explanation as to why prior information regarding his visits was not given to the local police and administration. He added that if Abbas claims that all restrictions imposed on him have been lifted, he would have to submit the relevant court order along with his reply.Ghazipur SP Iraj Raja said that despite serving notice to Abbas on Sunday seeking an explanation over his stay for more than three days at Yusufpur, no reply has been received so far. Now, a report on the violation of the conditions of bail granted by the SC to him was being sent to the state govt to initiate necessary action, said Raja. The officials mentioned that the SC would be informed regarding violation of the bail conditions by Abbas.Abbas had come on police radar when a team led by CO Mohamadabad Sudhakar Pandey reached his Yusufpur home in Ghazipur on Sunday night and served a notice to explain why he stayed here even after the end of three-day limit prescribed in the condition of bail granted by the SC. After it the cops kept vigil at the residence, although Abbas had left it on Monday.
