Lucknow: In a bid to ease traffic snarls on Kanpur Road, Lucknow traffic police have shifted the heavy-vehicle diversion point from Junabganj to Daroga Khera.Under the new trial arrangement, heavy vehicles will no longer be diverted at Junabganj. Instead, they will be diverted towards Kisan Path (Outer Ring Road) from Daroga Khera.DCP (Traffic) Raveena Tyagi said the arrangement aims to reduce the pressure of heavy vehicles on the Kanpur Road corridor and other city roads. Kisan Path, which forms a peripheral road around Lucknow, is being used to keep through-traffic away from the city’s congested stretches.The Junabganj diversion has therefore been withdrawn on a trial basis, while the new restriction point at Daroga Khera will be monitored to assess its impact on traffic movement.Officials will assess vehicle flow, congestion levels and commuter convenience during the trial before deciding whether to continue with the arrangement or make further changes.
