Noida: Residents of various neighbourhoods — including 12, 62, 122 and more — demand redress over overgrown trees and branches, which often fall during the monsoon showers.In Sector 12, the RWA president, Tarsem Chand, has raised alarms about a massive mango tree at C-13, which is leaning dangerously against a weak iron railing. “This tree is a disaster waiting to happen, and despite multiple complaints lodged, no action has been taken,” he said.An official at Noida Authority, Prashant Singh, responded by assuring that the leaning tree will be removed by tomorrow.In a parallel situation in Rajat Vihar, Sector 62, Sukhdev Sharma, president of the RWA, reported several incidents of trees falling during the rains which damaged vehicles and property. Despite prompt clearance from the horticulture department after the incidents, residents remain sceptical because of previous inaction. Additionally, the area also faces issues due to untimely pruning of large trees.In Sector 122, RWA president Shiv Kumar Tiwari said the authority did not carry out tree-trimming efforts in the sector. “For months, we have been requesting trimming of overgrown trees, yet only minor work has been done on one or two trees,” Tiwari said.Residents also complain about how overgrown branches hit pedestrians and block streetlights.Anand Mohan Singh, director, horticulture, Noida Authority, assured redress soon on all the issues raised.
