Navi Mumbai: The intensifying water crisis in Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) jurisdiction area has forced the civic body not to provide potable water supply connections to the under-construction sites. More than 100 such building sites will be affected due to the decision. Further, a decision to impose water cuts will be taken within a week.The construction sites under the erstwhile Panvel Municipal Council area and villages will not be allowed potable water supply connections. They have to arrange for their own water requirements. However, water supply will be provided to buildings seeking occupancy certificates.The PCMC executive engineer (water supply), Vilas Chavan, said, “Earlier, potable water supply connection was provided to construction sites. The decision was taken owing to the water scarcity. Further, water cut measures will be announced soon in the area where PCMC supplies water to tide over the crisis.”
