Noida: Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has withdrawn recognition of seven self-financed schools in Ghaziabad and Noida for remaining non-functional, as part of a statewide crackdown that has seen 465 schools derecognised.Officials said these schools —five in Ghaziabad and two in Noida — neither conducted classes nor sent any students for board examinations during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic sessions.Under the Intermediate Education Act, 1921, recognition is automatically cancelled if no student from a recognised high school or intermediate class appears in the board examination or if classes are not conducted for two consecutive academic years.“The institutions have failed to meet the board’s mandatory academic regulations. They do not have any necessary affiliations. No student was admitted to the schools either,” Ghaziabad District Inspector of Schools (DIoS) said. The schools derecognised in Ghaziabad include MS Public School in Raj Nagar, Golden Public Senior Secondary School in Pratap Vihar, Krishan S Dev Public High School in Pursi, Balak Ram Public Higher Secondary School in Sahibabad and RLS English School in Loni. The two Noida schools to be derecognised are Smt Chandradevi HSS and RKP Higher Secondary School in Sadarpur. In April, the Ghaziabad DIoS ordered a crackdown on schools engaged in “paper enrolment” — registering students at recognised institutions while they attended coaching centres or unrecognised schools. A district-level committee tasked with identifying such violations found that schools approved only for Classes 1 to 8 were illegally operating Classes 9-12, with students registered through other recognised institutions in breach of board regulations.“Several schools have been identified and issued notices. They have been given time to register themselves. A detailed report will be made soon,” a senior education official said.
