Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, has completed 1,000 robotic-assisted surgeries in less than three years, according to the institute. The procedures were carried out across the departments of Urology (590), Surgical Gastroenterology (248) and Surgical Oncology (162), covering complex urological, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, colorectal, gynaecological and cancer-related surgeries.Revanth, Damodar congratulate staffExpressing happiness, chief minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated NIMS director Dr Rahul Devaraj, the medical team, the nursing staff, and the operation theatre team for the extraordinary achievement in the medical field.During the meeting with the NIMS director, the CM said that the state govt’s aim to provide the state-of-the-art medical services accessible to common people in govt hospitals has been fulfilled. Revanth commended the NIMS hospital management for performing over 90 per cent of the robotic surgeries free of cost through the Aarogyasri scheme and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund ( CMRF). He noted that NIMS had recently completed 2,000 kidney transplant surgeries, and expressed hope that NIMS would achieve many more milestones in the medical field.Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha also congratulated the staff, saying that providing robotic surgeries for free under govt schemes had improved access for patients.
