Ahmedabad: The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is a strategic national institution for the future of India’s forensic ecosystem, said Govind Mohan, the Union home secretary, on Friday.He was speaking at the inauguration of the All-India Conference on Forensic Science and Prosecution as the chief guest.The event took place at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, where representatives from police, forensic sciences, prosecution, prisons, and courts were present. Organisers said that the idea of the event was to underline the need to break silos and work in tandem for justice delivery system. The home secretary asked the representatives from the states and Union territories to expedite recruitment in forensic science labs and prosecution departments. He added that the Union govt is taking major steps to modernise forensic science infrastructure across the country.
