Guwahati: Challenging for some, moderately tough for many, and downright tricky for others — the NEET-UG re-examination turned into a true test of endurance and resilience for thousands of candidates in the city.As students emerged from examination halls with mixed reactions, one sentiment was common: the NEET retested their patience, composure, and determination, making it an experience they are unlikely to forget anytime soon.Krishna Sharma, who appeared from the examination centre at IIT-Guwahati, said, “Although the re-exam naturally brought added pressure and uncertainty, I believe the paper fairly assessed conceptual clarity, accuracy, and composure under pressure.”He said this NEET re-test question paper was balanced yet moderately challenging. “In my opinion, Biology was largely NCERT-based and relatively scoring, while Chemistry offered a good mix of direct and application-based questions. However, Physics demanded stronger conceptual understanding and was the most time-consuming section, making effective time management essential,” Krishna told TOI.Shubh Prasad, who appeared from Dispur College centre here, said his experience with the paper was quite mixed. “I found Biology to be relatively easy, similar to the NEET 2026 paper. However, Physics and Chemistry were extremely conceptual and slightly lengthy,” he said.“I also noticed a change in the paper pattern, as assertion-reason questions were included this time. Despite these changes, there were still no diagram-based questions in Biology, which I found quite surprising,” Shubh added.Mostafa Ahmed, another medical aspirant and student of Modern English School, said, “Biology was easy to moderate. I could attempt most questions; only a few took time. The Chemistry section was moderate mostly, and a few questions were hard. But the Physics section was hard for me,” he added. His schoolmate Asthajita said some sections required careful reading and strong conceptual understanding, making time management important. “Although I felt a little nervous at the beginning, I gradually gained confidence as I progressed through the paper. Regardless of the final result, this experience has strengthened my confidence and motivated me to continue working hard towards achieving my goal,” she added.
