Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Science City on Tuesday hosted the inaugural ceremony of the National Workshop on Grassroots Innovation Pathway: From Local Resilience to National Advancements. The two-day national workshop, organised jointly by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GujCOST) and National Innovation Foundation (NIF), was attended by Union MoS (science and technology) Dr Jitendra Singh, and state science and technology minister Arjun Modhwadia.Over 200 delegates from across the country have participated in the initiative. Primary themes for the event would be water conservation, agriculture, healthcare, rural livelihoods, and climate resilience, said organisers.Dr Singh, in his address, pointed to the successful startups emerging from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and highlighted need to connect these innovations to cutting-edge technology, institutional support, and industry partnerships.In his address, Modhwadia said that the National Education Policy (NEP) has encouraged creativity and innovation among youths and it is crucial for the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
