Names of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra removed from Ram temple trust website

LUCKNOW: The chief executive officer overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is going to report to the general secretary of the trust.Inviting applications for the post of CEO, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK) on Monday posted a summarised version of the requirements that would have to be fulfilled to be eligible for the position. A three-year contract would be signed between the temple trust and the CEO, which could be renewed after the said period if the tenure of the individual selected for the job is found to be satisfactory.Only a graduate in the age bracket of 50 to 70, having an experience of at least 20 years in important roles, would be considered for the job. Only practising Hindus would be considered, and preference would be accorded to the ones who have strong faith in Ram and Vishnu avatars. Providing its email address, the trust stated that applicants can share their details till 4 pm on July 18, after which the scrutiny process would commence.Holding a crucial meeting on July 6, SRJBTK took a decision to rope in a CEO to administer the activities of the Ram temple. Bringing in professionals was deemed necessary as a major controversy erupted last month after it was found that six cash-counting agents had embezzled money from the hundis (donation boxes) during the counting. As a result, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, the general secretary and trust member having administrative and financial powers, had to step down from their positions, and another trust member, Krishna Mohan, was appointed as interim general secretary on July 6. A three-member search panel comprising retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired lieutenant general Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi and former nuclear scientist Suresh Haware, who is presently a member of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, was constituted on the same day to look for a suitable candidate. Constitutedon Feb 5, 2020, the temple trust was overseeing the functioning of the Ram temple independently all this while. The position is open for individuals having a diverse background in managing key positions in both public or private organisations, as well as for retired govt officials. A candidate with a multi-disciplinary background (general administration, finance, accounts, human resources, personnel, public relations, leadership roles, information technology, legal affairs, among others) would be given preference. The monthly emoluments and payout would be finalised after the discussions. The next meeting of the trust is scheduled to take place on July 22. The CEO is going to be responsible for coming up with standard operating procedures, systems and processes, as well as protocols required for various job functions and roles in the day-to-day working of the temple. The trust has also made it clear that all the conditions mentioned in the original trust deed would have to be followed, and approvals would have to be sought from the general secretary as well as permanent trust members before implementing any decision. The CEO would work independently under the supervision of the trust, said the job profile.Meanwhile, the website of the trust too has been updated to reflect the changes a week after the crucial meeting. Names and descriptions of eight trust members have been displayed, while those of Rai and Mishra have been removed from the portal. Similarly, names of four ex officio trust members (two representingUP govt and one representing central govt) are also mentioned along with that of former IAS Nripendra Mishra, the ex officio chairman of the construction committee, who has been appointed by the trust members.Among other issues, the trust members on July 22 could also take a decision on what needs to be done to fill up three vacant positions. When the trust was constituted, 11 permanent members were named as its members. Apart from Rai and Mishra, the third member, Raja Ayodhya Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, passed away in Aug last year.
