Mumbai: A day after the developer linked to the plot from where a tree collapsed in Khar claimed its immediate priority was extending “every possible support” to the affected families, including assistance towards medical and related expenses, the family of one of the critically injured persons on Saturday said they had not received any assistance relating to the expenses so far.“We are paying for the medical expenses ourselves. We have our own mediclaim policy which is being put to use,” said Harish Kumar, father of one of the injured, Harshita Kumar. “This is a very testing time for us and we want to focus entirely on the health of our children.”Kumar said that the entire medical expenses of even the other injured person, Aarika Srivastava’, were getting paid through mediclaim and personal payment mode.In response, a spokesperson from the private developer said, “On the morning of May 16, the director of Blue Stone personally visited the hospital and met the father of one of the girls and the uncle of the other. During the meeting, he once again reiterated Blue Stone’s unwavering commitment to extend every form of assistance required—whether financial, medical, infrastructural, or any other support necessary for the girls’ recovery and the families needs.”
