Mumbai: Security protocols were swung into action after the Azad Maidan police server room received an email warning of a bomb planted on Esplanade Court premises on Thursday. “The threat email was sent from a fake VPN address. We later found that it was a hoax. No court proceedings were halted,” said a police officer, adding that they often get such threat emails and they are “never serious”. On December 18, 2025, similar hoax threat emails were received by the Bombay high court, and Esplanade and Bandra courts. A threat email warning of a bomb allegedly planted at the Esplanade Court premises was received by the Azad Maidan police server room staff on Thursday.
