MoU inked between Centre and SSU for tribal devpnt

Varanasi: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday between the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India, and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU), Varanasi, to promote the development of India’s tribal communities.The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in New Delhi in the presence of Ranjana Chopra, secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs; Anant Prakash Pandey, joint secretary; Deepali Masirkar, director; and Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma, vice-chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.Under the initiative, several certificate and diploma courses have been developed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs with the academic support of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.The initiative aims to foster self-reliance, self-confidence, national consciousness and a strong sense of ‘Bharat Bodh’ among tribal children and youth.It also seeks to nurture their talent, creativity and constructive abilities through training in various arts, crafts, folk traditions and skills, enabling them to become active participants in the development of society and the nation.
