Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run as bus runs him over near Bhangrola

Gurgaon: A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run after a private bus hit his bike and ran him over near Bhangrola village chowk on Tuesday evening. The bus driver fled the spot, while the pillion rider escaped with minor injuries.The deceased, Dharmender, was a native of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh and lived in Bhangrola village. His friend, also named Dharmender, was riding pillion.According to the complaint, the two were returning to Bhangrola village from Harchand Chowk around 5.30pm. As they neared Bhangrola village chowk, they tried to overtake a white bus travelling ahead of them. The bus, which was being driven at high speed, hit the motorcycle, throwing both riders onto the road.The rear wheel of the bus ran over the rider, killing him on the spot. The pillion rider fell to the other side of the motorcycle and suffered minor injuries.Police said they reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and shifted the body to the mortuary. Since no eyewitnesses or family members were present initially, preliminary proceedings were carried out before the injured survivor approached the police station and lodged a complaint.Based on the complaint, Kherki Daula police registered a case under the relevant provisions of the BNS for causing death by negligence, rash driving and endangering life. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the driver and trace the bus.
