Motorcyclist killed in a head-on collision with a SUV

Pune: A motorcyclist was killed and a woman, along with her three-year-old son sustained serious injuries after a SUV collided head-on with the motorcycle at Samarthnagar in Kharadi around 10.30 pm on Sunday. Police constable Amol Jadhav (31) lodged a complaint at the Kharadi police station.Sub inspector Rahul Kolpe of Kharadi police told TOI, “We have arrested the SUV driver Prasad More (25) of Wagholi for his rash and negligent driving, and causing the death of the motorcycle rider late on Monday night. More does not have a valid driving license. Following the accident, the car driver removed the front and rear number plates in an attempt to destroy evidence.”Kharadi police identified the deceased motorcycle rider as Pawan Bharambe (35) of Wagholi. His relatives, Priya Tushar Kolhe (32) and her three-year-old son Dipraj Tushar Kolhe, sustained serious injuries in the accident. They are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.“More was produced before a city court on Tuesday, and the court remanded him in police custody till June 5”, he said.“It is not known if he was driving the SUV in an inebriated condition”, he said.
